So I've registered my company and as of 1st April, I am the sole proprietor for 'Sal Translations', specialising in English <-> Bahasa Malaysia <-> English written translation. I would have preferred a more creative company name, but heck, it doesn't really matter! I find it adequately satisfying, this business of translating from English to BM (or vice versa). It's work that requires some degree of language skills, and I look forward to further honing this skill. Needless to say, my English is better than my Bahasa Malaysia, but since BM is a language I was born into, it's rather like knowing how to ride a bicycle - it comes back to you in no time!
Not much have progressed in the creative writing front. I won't call it writer's block because I'm not even TRYING to continue work with my WIPs. Hard as I try to figure it out, I'm just not sure why this is. Right now my attention is divided between (among other things) getting my ass moving again as far as creative writing goes (and my ever-growing guilt concious for this massive slacking off on this front will, hopefully, force me to do so eventually) and the things I'm thinking of doing to push my freelance translation thing a bit further forward.
But won't push myself (contrary to rational argument that under such circumstances, I ought to be pushing myself harder). Steady as she goes...
