Impish Today... >:)

For some strange reason, I'm feeling quite impish today, like I ought to be out there up to no good! >:)

Must be the full moon. Oh no, wait. It's not a full moon yet. YET! I've not tracked and observed closely whether the moon does indeed have any effect on my moods. They say it affects people in general, or did I read somewhere that it affects women in particular. It affects one's mood swings. Don't see how it should affect women more than men. Didn't I also read somewhere that crime rates or suicide rates spike up on dates when there's a full moon out? Very strange theory.

But in any case, I do feel rather impish today. Impish in a good way, mind you. Must be the nice dream I had last nite... :)

Well, latest update. Still no work. But I am looking into the possibility of studying for ATT cert and maybe get a temp job in the meanwhile, or even better, get an accounting-related job while studying for the AAT. That would be MINT! Absolutely BRILL! (Tilly would be so proud I used those words, not bad for an 'old' lady). :)

We went bed shopping today, went to Tudor Williams in New Malden. Found a nice divan bed with 2 drawers underneath it at an offer, and another one which was even nicer, but not on offer. Daisy doesn't like the idea of IKEA products, unfortunately. So we've got the bed specs and we'll see if it'll fit in her room and she'll put the old bed in her room into the small front room. Only thing is, it takes 4 weeks for delivery. :( I'm sure IKEA won't take that long. I think not anyway.

So it turns that Jules might go out to Malaysia instead in November, then come back here in early December. It will be a nice trip for her. She's not seen the new apartment, plus she'll keep her dad company. :) Oh my God, the exasperation she had dealing with Stirling Ackroyd over the flat she wanted was UNBELIEVEABLE! First they took a 50 pounds deposit so they can 'take the flat off the market', then they baited them with a possibility of a 'job vacancy' as a receptionist at their office (it's almost impossible to get through to the office if you try to call them) asking Jules if she had her CV with her. Then later on, they asked for over 200 pounds for god knows what, which Jules and her friend paid. THEN they sent them the contract agreement THREE DAYS before they were meant to move in so Jules had to make a MAD DASH to make sure her dad, as a guarantor, had time to read through the contract before signing it. And a good thing she did because the contract was a complete FARCE (essentially, it made her dad liable for any damages to the property), something that was NOT mentioned at all in the guarantor form that he signed earlier. THEN, when we took that clause out and returned it to them, they claimed that the owner didn't want to accept that contract. And THEN they tried to slip ANOTHER fast one, saying that the owner might be persuaded if Jules put an additional 1,000 grand deposit on top of everything else. And when we refused that, they said they'll not return ANY of the deposit that's been paid because WE refused to sign THEIR unreasonable contract. Just so happen Jules has a friend whose family owns a lettings agency and said that the clause that was in that contract was NOT STANDARD PRACTICE (like the people at Stirling claimed it was). I mean... OMG.

I think they just saw two sweet, trusting young girls from outside of London and thought they can make a quick buck with this SCAM! Honestly that IS what it is, essentially... a SCAM! Well... we're CERTAINLY going to report them to whoever we need to report them to! I CAN'T believe a company like theirs practice this kind of unprofessional, clearly NOT in good faith, in fact downright malicious service on unsuspecting clients! And to make things worse, Jules had driven five hours all the way down to London with all her belongings because she thought they'd be moving in a few days time and her friend from back home has made plans to come down next week to visit them at their new place, but now she's stuck with no flat of her own! Not to mention the emotional damage this whole thing has caused them!

*deep breaths, deep breaths* I dunno... like the real estate industry isn't in a bad enough shape already, the practice of letting agencies like this certainly doesn't help! They ought to be ashamed of themselves. In fact, whoever OWNS Stirling Ackroyd should look into the matter and sack whoever those lettings agents are because they certainly don't do the agency's reputation any good!

Ugh, shouldn't think about this just before going to bed. What a nasty, nasty, nasty experience Stirling Ackroyd has been!
