One great thing about paying attention to how you feel (as opposed to letting ourselves forever paying attention to what our thoughts are saying to us) is that you're able to pinpoint what could possibly be the cause of certain emotions you're feeling inside. That slight 'blues' you're feeling can either be because you're thinking that tomorrow is Monday and you have to go to work or it could be due to your hormones because it's that time of the month, or it could be because it's a full moon tonight, or because you're having a sugar-low, or it could be because the weather is gloomy that day, or because you're experience a crash after the four cups of strong coffee you had an hour ago.
What's even more interesting is once you've ruled out all of the usual suspects and you're pretty sure it isn't any of these, you'd have to wonder where that subtle sense of unease is coming from. Is it your body (physical), your mind (your thought) or something else...?
A great way to notice these different type of energies is to think of something that makes you sad or angry or loathe. When you think of that subject or event or person who make you feel that way and think hard enough to identify WHY that subject or person or event makes you feel that way, you'll be able to understand something about yourself that you didn't know before; you'll get an insight as to the person you really are. So all the 'negative' experiences you've had before are actually opportunities for your to open the door to getting to know who you really are beyond your own justifications and rationalizations.
So next time you 'feel bad', pay attention. Try to pinpoint what might be causing it. Then you might be lucky enough - if you stay focus with that process - you might see a new truth about yourself.
