In Love All Over Again πŸ’–πŸ’–

Hands down my favourite out of their new album 'Trench'. Have a listen Twenty One Pilot's 'Trench' album. I know the lyric doesn't sound as cheery as the music, but then that's Twenty One Pilots all over and that's what makes them different from the other bands.

The other fun thing about the band is their FANS. Variously called skeleton clique, or the clique, or now the Banditos (maybe?) when you look at their comments in any of Twenty One Pilot's videos, they just sound so... NICE. Most of them are anyways. Many of these fans can relate to Tyler Jospeh's lyrics, all the way back from his first solo album 'No Phun Intended'. Personally, I think some of his earlier music is spiritual and sublime. For example, his track 'Drown' :

This was the kind of track that got me first listening to TOP. TOP's lyrics addresses, albeit in a cryptic way, the kinds of issues that young people (read: teenagers and young adults) deal with in these days, sad to say - depression, anxiety, all kinds of uncertainties and confusion in life. With the advent of the internet and smartphones and computers, kids these days are influenced by FAR more things than those of us born before the internet came into mainstream access. Those born after the 70's have almost no shield against the onslaught of information, misinformation, misguidance, bombarding them through these screens. I feel for them... I really do.

The fact that the duo 'talks' about the mental and emotional issues they go through rings a bell with their fans. So much so that the fans consider the duo 'theirs' - they claim not ownership, but kin. Now, how many bands out there right now can claim that, eh?
